It was in 1998 when I made my first connection to the Könemann Publishing House. This was a fateful moment for me.
I had heard about the successful "Culinaria" book series and proposed a "Culinaria" book on Greek food, but it was difficult to convince the publisher. The German editor couldn't imagine a Culinaria book about Greece. "Does Greece have a cuisine?" the editor asked me.
I felt obliged to prove him wrong. I sent him a full concept for a 460 page Greek Culinaria book to convince him. Shortly after that, I started a two-year research trip all over Greece, visiting all regions and most of the big Greek islands. The research I gathered was enormous.
Today Culinaria Greece is a standard work on Greek cuisine from the country's various regions and traditions with fascinating photos of the Greek landscape, food, wine, and people. Culinaria Greece has been translated into 6 languages.
